It's time for another edition of Meet A Member of the Liberty NY Rotary Club. This person has never shied-away from leadership, whether it was his time in education to currently serving as an assistant governor in the region in addition to being an active member of our club (and one of the longest serving at that). We are of course referring to Jack Strassman. Here's his story ....

"I grew up in Flushing Queens, home of the New York Mets!  I have two children, Matt, who is 30 years old and Danielle, who is 28.  I also have a 7 year old dog named Leo. I have lived in Liberty since October 1995 when I took an administrative position in the Liberty Central School District. I retired from LCS in 2018 after 23 years. Currently, I live in Middletown, NY.

"I have been a member of our Rotary club since 1995. I’m a Paul Harris Fellow +1 and a 5-time past president. I have been a member and chairperson of many committees over the years and currently I am a member of the following Liberty Rotary committees: foundation, disaster relief, membership, nomination and raffle.

"What I like best about our club is that we get stuff done and have a lot of fun while doing it! We have a great mix of long time rotarians and quite a few newer and younger members. We are an active group and support many local, national and international organizations.

"This year I accepted the position of Assistant Governor for our region south clubs and joined the  District Membership Committee.

"When I am not at Rotary, I enjoy hiking with Gail and my dog Leo. I also enjoy watching football, sampling craft beer, and of course spending time with family and friends.  As I was writing this, I realized that most of my closest friends are Rotarians because we are people of action."
