Welcome
I am originally from Livingston Manor; my mother still lives in the house I grew up in on White Roe Lake Road. In 1969 became one of the towns first Eagle Scouts. I graduated from Livingston Manor Central School in 1972 and joined the US Air Force in January of 1973.
After my discharge from the military in January of 1977 as a Vietnam era veteran I took a job in Callicoon working for C.E. Mills Chevrolet.
In January of 1978 I took a job with IBM and moved my family to Poughkeepsie. I started at IBM assembling computers and soon moved to department technician and department manager. I held various positions (site planner, team leader for the industrial engineering departments, and advisory business planner) as I climbed the ladder of opportunity.
I was downsized from IBM in June of 1993 ending a wonderful 15-year carrier. I moved back to Sullivan County in 1994 and worked construction for myself until I was hired by SullivanArc in January of 1996 as the Production Manager in Sullivan Arc’s sheltered workshop. A few years later I became the Director of Vocational Business Operations. I currently hold the position of Business Developer for the newly merged Arc Sullivan-Orange Counties.
My position at Arc afforded me the opportunity to attend Leadership Sullivan as a member of the 2009-2010 class. By this time, I had already been attending many charitable events through the encouragement of my very giving and caring wife.
I joined the Chamber of Commerce Foundation Board in 2010 as the secretary and our primary focus is administering the Leadership Sullivan Program. I sat on all the Arc Sullivan-Orange fund raising committees, and for the last eleven years my wife and I are Subzero Heroes taking the plunge in a lake in February for Alzheimer’s awareness and research. We are supporters of the Forestburgh Play House, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Boys & Girls Club, Toys for Tots, Federation and Head Start gift drives, NAMI, Heart-A-Thon, St Jude’s, the Bashakill Association, and ASB to name a few.
My wife Theresa and I joined the Liberty Rotary club in 2020 and I became club president in 2022.
I am currently chair of the New Hope Community Board of Directors.
