Adelante Summer Program for Rising Sophomores and Juniors

Undocumented students often do not have access to adequate knowledge about academic opportunities in higher education.  Colleges throughout the country are equally not equipped to reach the undocumented student population.  Adelante is a program attempting to assist these youths in overcoming the barriers these students face.  Carlos Juarez and Tatiana Quintanilla gave a wonderful talk about what it is like to be undocumented and how difficult it may be for very worthy students to gain admission to college and acquire financial assistance.  They are promoting the Adelante program which will provide a summer week long workshop for students to visit institutes of higher learning and obtain the skills they need to get into college and fund their experience.

Our two guest speakers are amazing young people who are clearly going great places.  They are the epitome of what we want from America's youth.  We thank them for opening our eyes to the issues they and their peers face.  Liberty Rotary is donating $250 to Adelante to assist in its mission.
