Jeremy Gorelick, recent chapter and board member, has been hired for a medium-term assignment by the City of Dakar(capital of Senegal) to lead a team of international experts as they consider the launch of the city's first municipal bond.

Bond proceeds are expected to benefit a number of capital investment projects, including sanitation, clean water, pick-up and disposal of solid waste, and steady electric service.

Other than the conferences and meetings that he is participating in while in Dakar, Jeremy also has, through this position, been able to interface with other Rotary Clubs in Europe and Africa. Since the end of 2011, he has traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa, Paris, France, and London, England, and anticipates trips to Marrakesh, Morocco, and Lagos, Nigeria, before the end of this project. On each trip, he contacts the head of the local Rotary club to inquire about attending their weekly meeting.
