Scott Whitehead, Lynn Whitehead and Lewis Borko spoke at the April 17th meeting about the Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading organization.  The league has been around for a bout 10 years and although originally a Fallburgh initiative, it now serves children throughout the county.  This is the only nationally recognized program of its kind in the county and their main playing fields are at Morningside Park.

The program has relied on donations, sponsors, and grants... up until now, but is now struggling financially and has debt that needs to be paid.  In spite of this difficult financial time, the organization refuses to turn students away.  The program is expensive to maintain due to insurance fees, association costs, travel costs, uniforms and the mandated reconditioning of helmets and shoulder pads to meet safety regulations.

Liberty Rotary Club made a preliminary donation of $100 and the board will discuss further action.  If you would like to contribute, please contact Lewis Borko at 845-866-0764.
