Liberty Rotary Club was delighted to host our neighboring clubs at our annual Region 5 meeting and barbecue.  Multiple clubs were represented, sharing fellowship and reporting all the great things our clubs our accomplishing to make our region and our world a better place to live.

The guest speaker for the evening was Stuart Hirsch, who discussed his role in transporting, by helicopter, those in need of medical assistance to facilities best able to help them through Airborne Emergency Medical Services and Medevac with the Air Methods LifeNet of New York HELO and PC-12 teams. Their lifesaving aeromedical assets provide residents of Sullivan, Ulster and Orange Counties with a specialized and highly trained crew of expert pilots and advanced clinicians who stabilize and transport traumatically injured and the critically ill from the scenes of accidents and outlying hospitals to Trauma Centers and academic centers of excellence. By utilizing air resources, they help to connect the rural Catskill and Hudson Valley communities with the highest level of emergency care and transport so that they have the best possibility of survivability. They also perform longer range aeromedical transports to national centers of medical care, such as the Cleveland and Mayo Clinics, for consultation and treatment.  We thank Stuart for speaking and more importantly for the essential live-saving work that he performs with his group.

Thank you to everyone that attended the meeting on August 7th.  We hope you enjoyed your time and Stuart's talk as much as we did.
Special thanks to everyone at Liberty Rotary Club that planned, set-up, cooked, served, organized and cleaned up at the event.
