Welcome Liberty Schools Superintendent Bill Silver

Bill Silver may be new to Liberty, but his 39 years in education should be a valuable asset as he takes the helm as Superintendent of Liberty Central School District.  Although Mr. Silver grew up in New York City, he had never visited the Catskills before.  Supt. Silver told us that this year's budget process is almost complete and that due to a number of teachers taking a retirement incentive, the tax levy increase will be about 2% this year.  Some of his goals include increasing the district's graduation rate, elevating student engagement in classrooms, building greater technology into instruction and proceeding with Phase II of the district's renovation plan.
