Thanks to the impressive efforts of the Liberty Rotary Club, $8,435 was collected for the 34th annual CRMC Heart-A-Thon.  Gary Siegel and Jack Strassman were the driving force of this fundraising campaign, bringing in $2114 from the sale of hearts at local establishments and organizing this year's raffle.  Many other members worked the phones and pounded the pavement in the quest to support this worthy event.
 
The 34th annual CRMC Heart-a-Thon was held February 25th. Between the heart money collected from the Liberty community ($2,114) the raffle ($500) the pledges collected in advance ($2,958) and the money taken on the phones during the hour which Rotary worked, ($2,863) Liberty Rotary Club raised $8,435 for the CRMC Cardio Pulmonary Department; 13% of the total raised at the entire event. Special thanks to Pat Abbott who gathered $1,000 in pledges in advance and to Gary Silver who gathered $700 in advance, to Jack Strassman and Gary Siegel for delivering hearts and picking up the heart money and to the phone sitters; Dave Thomson, Barbara Blakey, Jack Strassman, Gary Silver, Barbara Blakey and her daughter Sophia who brought in over $2,500 in pledges during the Liberty Rotary hour at the event. Great job and a great service to our community.
