Assisting a Friend In Need

Liberty Rotary Club is not just committed to its fellow man, but to its four legged friends as well.  At this year's first barbecue a woman reported that a turtle was in distress.  Dan Parkhurst and Jack Strassman investigated the situation and then located park staffers to assist.  A number of Rotarians guided the workers in getting the turtle closer to shore so that it could be freed from the fishing line and associated muck that was keeping the turtle from being able to move.  The two boys at the park did a masterful job of getting the turtle to shore so that the line could be cut.
