Devin Brust is New D.A.R.E. Officer at Liberty Central Schools

We were very pleased to welcome guest speaker Devin Brust at our September 25th meeting.  Devin is a former graduate of Monticello Central Schools and is a police officer in Liberty as well as the School Resource Officer.  His recent transition to Liberty Central Schools as the full time D.A.R.E. officer has been good for him and the district. 

His duties include making contact with the entire student body as well as teaching the D.A.R.E. curriculum to the 5th grade.  D.A.R.E. focuses on choices, consequences and making responsible decisions.  Officer Brust told us he feels it is a far more useful program than it used to be as the focus shifted from just drug use prevention to a much wider scope of issues.  The program seeks to empower students to make wise decisions.

Devin is in school every day the students are, and visits all 3 of Liberty's buildings.
